Low voltage heading to the control panel.
We've steadily been making progress. Check out the wiring for the data and low voltate (phone, cable and internet)! Yep, this doesn't even show the line voltage wiring. This includes individual "home runs" for cable, phone and ethernet to each room not to mention closed circuit camera cables to the cameras on the outside of the house, security cables for fire and glass breakage and connections to the shop.

Insulation in wall between master bed and bath.
Notice that we've insulated the interior walls, ceiling between floors and the walls are extra dense blown in blanket. The header shown in this pic will enable us to install a see-through gas fireplace between the master bed an bath sometime in the future. I know! Crazy love nest!

Goggles just get covered with paint!
After the insulation and drywall, we fired up our new sprayer and went to town. Three days later, and three coats/ 55 gallons of primer and paint, and the upper and main floors were ready for a few new touches.

Kitchen cabinets going in.
The kitchen was first and we chose to install the cabinets, range, fridge, range hood, sink and the rest of it ourselves. However, we let the granite folks install the sexy tops.

Island granite - BLING!
Installing the kitchen was pretty gratifying. The stove is a dual fuel 48" GE Monogram. The granite came from Precision Countertops and the cabinets are semi-custom from Artistic Kitchen and Bath.

Kitchen - Semi Finished

Kitchen sink and countertop
Finished, the kitchen has lots of room for folks to sit at the bar while activity at the main sink, prep sink in the island and all the rest happens without running into each other.

Baby mama installing hardwood
The hardwood is natural full thickness acacia we bought from Stone Wood Outlet in Portland. Beautiful and very tough (the floor too!). ;-)

Entry with heated floor under slate.
|
Entry, mud and laundry room floor
The entry, mud and laundry rooms are equipped with 220V electric mats under the slate. The idea was to enable wet shoes to be removed and set in the entry to dry in the wet months. In the mud room, wet nasty riding gear can experience the same treatment. There's also a dog washing tub in the mud room. One the dogs are clean, they get to lay on the slate and be warm while they dry.
